On the East Coast in Gisborne Dr Ihaia had a supportive whanau and enjoyed spending time in the Moana – surfing, diving, and fishing. His holistic approach is shaped by his values as a Maori practitioner and the importance of balancing physical, mental, family, and spiritual wellbeing, a philosophy that informs every aspect of his chiropractic care.
Dr Ihaia’s passion for holistic healthcare began early, shaped by his experiences as a child navigating the healing process after losing his right eye to cancer. These formative years exposed him to diverse healing practices and instilled a deep sense of responsibility to serve his community.
Chiropractic care became the natural culmination of these experiences, allowing him to help others achieve optimal health and wellness through a holistic approach.
Dr Ihaia’s dedication to chiropractic care is rooted in his belief that every person deserves the opportunity to thrive. A proud graduate of The New Zealand College of Chiropractic, Dr Ihaia combines a strong foundation in health science with an in-depth understanding of Māori health principles.
His advanced training includes techniques such as Diversified, Gonstead, Drop Assist, Activator, NSA, SOT, and Webster Technique. This enables him to provide tailored care to practice members of all ages and needs, whether he’s helping a child achieve better posture, supporting a pregnant mother, or aiding an athlete in optimising performance.

Dr Tamzin Motion, B. Chiro, B. AppSci (Sports Nutrition), MNZCA, was inspired to begin a career in chiropractic because of her love for movement and a natural affinity for health and wellness. Growing up in the stunning southern city of Dunedin, she spent much of her childhood in dance studios or competing in show jumping.
Chiropractic care was an integral part of her preparation for both dance exams and horse events, instilling an early appreciation for its benefits in performance and recovery. After earning a degree in Sports Nutrition from Otago University, Dr Tamzin’s passion for holistic health deepened, leading her to the world-renowned New Zealand College of Chiropractic.
During her studies, she discovered the power of a well-functioning spine and nervous system to enable the body to self-coordinate, self-regulate, and self-heal.
These are now the principles that form the cornerstone of her chiropractic philosophy.
Dr Tamzin is highly skilled in a range of techniques, including Diversified, Drop Assist, Activator, NetworkSpinal, and Webster Technique, allowing her to provide personalised care for practice members of all ages and stages of life.
Her experience as a chiropractor and background in sports nutrition enables her to offer a unique, well-rounded approach to practice member wellness.

We start by taking the time to understand you.
➡️ Your health history and current concerns
➡️ How your body has been feeling and functioning
➡️ What you’ve tried before
From there, we carry out a series of assessments to get a clear picture of what’s happening.
➡️ Posture and movement assessment
➡️ Spinal and neurological checks
➡️ Additional testing if required
👉 The goal is simple: understand the root cause - not just the symptoms.

Once we’ve gathered the information, we’ll explain everything clearly.
➡️ What we’re seeing
➡️ What may be contributing to your symptoms
➡️ What your options are moving forward
If clinically appropriate, this may include:
➡️ A personalised care plan
➡️ Recommendations based on your goals
👉 No confusing jargon - just clear, honest answers.

If chiropractic care is appropriate for you, we’ll begin care.
➡️ Gentle, specific adjustments (if clinically safe)
➡️ Guidance on how to support your progress
➡️ A clear plan so you know what comes next
👉 The focus is helping your body move and function the way it’s designed to.
